We have three main types of USPS postage you can choose from: Ground Advantage, Flat Rate Priority and Priority. Most of the shipping options we offer are Priority, which means your package will be delivered faster. But if you want to go for a slower, but more affordable option, you can select one of the Ground Advantage options (Under 15.9oz or more than 15.9oz).
The following graphic shows a breakdown of shipping types from our Shipping Modal:

- Ground Advantage (Both options explained)
- Priority & Priority Flat Rate
Ground Advantage
Ground Advantage is a great shipping option provided by USPS that won't break the bank. They took two previous shipping types (First Class and Parcel Select) to combine them under a new and updated name. It's specifically designed for all kinds of packages and envelopes with a discount on smaller, lighter weight packages. There is also $100 coverage automatically included in each package shipped.
For this shipping option, you cannot use any USPS Priority marked packages. Any other types of packages will be applicable: you can use an envelope, poly mailer, bubble mailer, or a small box – whichever works best for your shipment.
You can choose to enter the dimensions and weight of your package (even if it's under a pound) through the Custom Package section on the bottom left of the shipping modal.
When you choose one of the convenient Ground Advantage (Formerly First Class) ranges, then you can quickly choose the correct postage type without needing to enter a ton of numbers. Either way, you'll be provided the lowest price for your specific order.
Helpful Hint:
When shipping with the Ground Advantage (Formerly First Class) weight buttons, packages have to be lighter than a pound, specifically 15.9 ounces or less, and less than one cubic foot. However, if your package weighs between 0.1 and 3.9 ounces, it doesn't matter if you enter 0.1 or 3.9 – they all cost the same! So, when you're getting ready to ship your Ground Advantage package, just focus on choosing the right weight range.
Let's say you have a package that weighs 8 ounces then you need to select the "11.9 oz" option. If you mistakenly choose "7.9 oz," USPS's keen detection skills might catch the discrepancy. And you know what that means? It results in an APV Charge, which is definitely not what you want.
Priority and Flat Rate
Priority means expedited shipping times, which means your package will reach its destination faster than you can say "express delivery!". Here's the cherry on top: on certain packages, you can get up to $100 shipping coverage through USPS.
Now, let's talk about these designated USPS packaging treasures. They come in different shapes and sizes, just waiting to be filled with your goodies. Whether it's a box, an envelope, or any other special Priority packaging, as long as your items fit in there, you're golden. Just think of it as a "packaging puzzle," where your goal is to find the perfect fit. It gets even better, the price of postage doesn't even depend on how much they weigh, as long as it is under 70 pounds.
So, you're not opting for one of USPS's flat rate options? No worries, my friend. We've got the Priority - Custom Package option just for you! When you choose this option, the cost of postage will depend on two things: the weight of your package and the Zone you're shipping to. Think of Zones as different regions with their own magical shipping costs. Please note that these are just general ideas, and actual prices may vary. Oh, and remember, *ALL* Priority packages must be under 70 pounds.
